This hobby of mine

Many think that Radio controlled cars are kiddy and all. well, they're wrong. from 7 to what ever age you die, we people take up this hobby of design. The kiddy ones are the $39.90 ones at departmental stores. The real one like mine is basically 10 times smaller than a real car. i run drifting. sourcing parts from all over the world, i can safely say that i spent no less than a $1000 on this hobby after 5 years. some of the designs i've done over the years.you can see how my skills have developed over time (:

Sleepless in...

Formula drift had a title called 'sleepless in seattle'. well, mine is 'sleepless in singapore!' last night(fri night) i slept at 3.30am! woke up directly at 7.30am. Damn, 4 hours of sleep and then 3 hours of training. Tennis...hmm, the weather was so warm, that even though i took off my shirt to play, and not even vigoursly, sweat was pouring all over my body, LITERALLY! like i just got out of the shower, sweat in my belly button too! Like Maroon5 Makes me Wonder, Goddamn my spinning head, is exactly what im having. Gonna get some sleep.

Me and my mate Bryan Yap went to pick up his tt01 radio controlled car after school. all the way at hougang! then back to orchard where i helped him setup his car. We talked not only about cars but christianity! AWESOME! All Glory to God! yeah, and we traded bodyshells. here's the process:

Spectators!

Baseball beats the shit out of tennis!

After serving into a locker 10m away.

Didn't really feel like getting up today at 8 for training. so i just pushed myself and went. Rallied with wayne, and then Qi Tai came.(old barker tennis player) . so they talked. training was like super messed up. no one bothered about physical training. we just walked away, and the coach was so slacked that we could call for our own games or do whatever we wanted to. then Jon pek tried to smash return a ball but his racket slipped outta his hand and cracked. so we smashed it up-literally and broke of the handle. super funny. from snapped strings(spencer's racket), to broken rackets(Pek) to a smashing serve 10m away to open a locker(me^^) . yeah, then talked from 12 till 1, me, spencer and zhang went to queensway to restring rackets, eat lunch and buy DEO?! friggin cool day, just gets better and better :)

What an awesome day!

Today i finished school and called drew to pick me. then he ask me to take a bus to somerset cause he's repairing his phone. so yeah, met drew and jere there, had mac.s for lunch and two subway cookies :) we should do these outings more often.. the best way to start the weekend. ^^

Today today...

Not really a happy day. tennis burned me out this morning even though i slept earlier. woke up with a pounding head, shrivelled eyes. didn't start the day happy. i was so bored today that the slightest thing could piss me off. thank God i held back if my anger if not two guys in my class would get bloody noses, thank God that i also can control- not so violent. :)

Tennis (11082009)

well, i finally had my grip changed the night before on monday, and tried out my racket. super good feeling when all those spins and curls reunite. What i lack is consistency. i can't even survive a normal match. All the good players and bad players are starting to swap places. I had to play with yew ming up to 4-3, tie break 9-7! thats how bad all our consistency has became! usually its a ownage of like 4-1.. this is real sad..

UP and away

This morning i woke up like at 10am, hearing that my family is going gym. Wanted to though, but just too tired and lazy. so i brought my stuff and studied at Sicc library with drew. A and E maths.Kinda tired cause of yesterdays plus i did vocals for church. Well, preparing and going out with a couple of friends to watch UP:)

Sunday morning.

What a cool way to start the day. slept like 230am and i couldn't sleep when i woke up at 645am. so i just got up, brought my dogs to the garden, enjoy the new day God has given, fed the dogs( they were so happy, looking up half way while eating and wagging their tail). and then i made breakfast for the whole family. Prata, eggs and sausage, tea and coffee. it was a blast ^^

i must say i feel good.

well, didn't post anything on sat. busy day and all. team training at barker, sun was so friggin hot. not the sun, the atmosphere. usually i'd take off my shirt at the last part of training, but after five long rallies i just had to take it off and play. the shirt was 3 times heavier cause of the sweat(thank god there was no smell), and sweat even hanging off my eyelids. my hands also got clammy, my stupid grip had no grip, and my playing sucked. now i know why. next training, new grip, gonna give killer flat shots and wicked top spins. :)

NDP celebration?

Well, sorta... except for many guys in uniform groups who had to be replaced cause of either dehydration or fainting. i just don't feel so good today, bored and all, waiting for someone to talk to..
went GYM today and so far, it was the only good feeling for a body workout...

The fun and joy we had/ have.

Yesterday and today we jammed. Yesterday's layout: Me on the bass, drew on electric, nigel on electric, pete on the drums, jere on the keyboard+ vocals. Nigel is my cousin, the rest are my older brothers. Played blues, jazz, funk, rock and pop... songs like maroon 5, jason mraz...

Today was me, drew and pete only.

Don't have pics of us jamming, but this is the only one pic a while back.

Learnt awesome stuff like new grooves :)

Today is AE86 day!

Well, if you are not a car 'junky' like me, you'll learn something new, better that ndp:) basically its the day toyota AE86s, or hachiroku(in japanese) is celebrated all around the world as a community. 8 stands for august, 6 stands for the 6th :)

Well, today in school was nothing much, except smsing:) Had thoughts of getting a Petrol driven radio control car, but in the end after long, tedious thinking, i decided just get an iTouch instead, so much more useful and less time consuming. :)

Well, the 1st of august was when planetshakers revolution had a new release of their devotions. It started of with faith moving mountains. Sunday for church was running the race with perseverance and faith, and school talked about the same thing. Wow, how cool is that! I believe God is speaking to me and I already know what its is....

Hey everyone, I'm Daniel (a.k.a skinny D), from acs barker... currently have hobbies such as radio control cars, tuning real cars, playing bass, drums, piano, vocals, and a school team tennis player. Well, i have another blog but i might as well use blogger cause its awesome:) I come from a Christian background, currently helping in the music ministry helping to setup a church called ACTS, formerly known as CCF(changi christian fellowship). 1st brother, peter, on the drums, 3rd brother, andrew on the electric/acoustic guitar, and me on the bass/vocals. Worship leader is Martin Tang.
